Many times, we asked God for directions and we expect to hear his voice through an earth jerking sign. BUT TRUTH IS…. sometimes His Holy Spirit is teaching us some of our most valuable lessons as we go throughout our daily lives and when we least expect it.
HEAR THIS….
The other day I was on the phone with technical support and they were going to update some software on my computer. Now, I am no technology guru, so this was not going to be an easy task for me to do on my own. That said, the technician asked if he could have my permission to access my screen and of course, ACCESS WAS GRANTED. Now granting the technician permission to take over my computer was not something new for me. However, what was different, is the way that he went about fixing the problem.
HEAR ME OUT…. Generally, the technician walks me through a series of steps that allows them the right to access my screen. Once they gain full access, they do all the work. During this process, I pretty much kick my feet up and enjoy the ride 
. BUT again, this technician, did things a little different. He placed a red dot on my screen where he wanted me to click and before I clicked, he would provide me with detailed instructions.
WHILE I was following the technician’s instructions, I remembered that months ago, my 10-year-old nephew had expressed interest in creating codes and software for computers. So, I thought it would be a good idea for him to experience this process with the technician. I called him to my computer, and I explained that the technician would put a red dot on the place he wanted him to click. I told him that although he would see the red dot first, he would have to wait for the technician’s instructions before he could actually move forward. WOULDN’T YOU KNOW IT…. My nephew, being click happy, saw the red dot and assumed that he knew what to do before hearing the instructions. Now this did not cause any delays or destruction’s because I was right there in his ear say WAIT FOR THE FULL INSTRUCTIONS.
IMMEDIATELY THE HOLY SPIRIT DOWNLOADED A VALUABLE LESSON IN MY SPIRIT
We did not know what the finish product would be once the updates were complete, nor did the technician tell us. What he did do is, gave a brief description of why things were being updated and tried to paint a picture of how the update would be beneficial when it was complete.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER …….The technician painted a picture of where we were going after everything was complete. Then he used the red dot to show us the place we were supposed to be next. Then he provided full instructions before we walked out that next step.
Isn’t this just like God? Many times, in life we get glimpses of what God wants to do in us and through us. This could be in prayer, a prophecy, by reading his word, etc.) AND sometimes, we move forward without getting the full instructions. THE POINT IS THIS God may not give us all the instructions beforehand……BUT he will provide us with the details we need every step of the way.
In this season, REFUSE TO MOVE FORWARD without getting the next instructions. Because moving ahead of His timing MAY BE DETRIMENTAL.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
